C'était une véritable aventure, nous étions seuls, aucun soutien de Sherpa dans la montée et aucune communication. Si quelque chose allait mal le sauvetage était hors de question, car il n'y avait aucun moyen d'obtenir de l'aide. Nous étions engagés à 100% et nous étions seuls, ce qui devrait être le cas lors d'une ascension en escalade.

After we finished our climb on Pumori, we walked down to Namche Bazaar (the Sherpa capital of the world) to rest and prepare for our next expedition, which was to go over three 20,000 ft passes in winter from the Everest region to Makalu Base Camp. Moving fast and efficiently was extremely important, we only had enough food and cooking...

Craig Calonica tells us about the first Hang glider flight off Mt. Everest. It was an historic event that took place on the Tibetan side of Everest on it’s north face. He was one of the lead climbers and along with his friend Steve McKinney one of the organizers of the expedition.
